How to guard against crooks and other fraudulent schemes on eBay

Be on the look out for ebay "phishers" who will pose as eBay members. Their methods range from sending scam emails and building up fake websites and steal your credit card information they might even make up false threats. Even some "phishers" pose as ebay members and so be if you have any email from any one claiming to be an ebay member always check your inquiry in your ebay account before replying to that email. Some successful "phishers” alter the listings of the original seller and elevate the prices of listed items. Some auctions also play into your emotions by making up touching stories like: “my kid was recently hospitalized and I just recently lost my job, please help me by buying this unique product. Be cautious of 3 monkeys auction the surprise might not be pleasant. For sellers on eBay take your lend always listen to your customers as they tend to act as your informant. Also not that eBay has a "Vero" program that allows you to fax a form in to get an auction flagged.
